Getting creative, trying something new and making memories together

There has been a little Halloween magic happening at Abingdon Gardening Club! Our wonderful young gardeners have been getting creative and rolling up their sleeves to take part in a very special activity – pumpkin carving.

The children had a fantastic time exploring their pumpkins, scooping out the insides and carefully creating their very own spooky designs. There were plenty of smiles, lots of excitement and some wonderfully imaginative creations!

For some of our children, this was a particularly special experience. We know that not every child has the opportunity to take part in activities like pumpkin carving outside school. Our Gardening Club helps to make sure that all children have access to exciting experiences, new opportunities and memories they can treasure.

At Abingdon, we believe that every child deserves the chance to try something new, discover hidden talents and feel part of something special. Our clubs are about much more than the activity itself; they are about building friendships, growing confidence, developing skills and creating a sense of belonging.

Our pumpkin carving also gave us a wonderful opportunity to put our ARCH values into action:
- Ambition: Being brave enough to try something new and having a go at creating something unique.
- Respect: Looking after our resources, listening to instructions and valuing everyone’s creations.
- Collaboration: Sharing ideas, helping each other and enjoying the experience together.
- Honesty: Being proud of our efforts and celebrating what we have achieved.

A huge well done to all our budding gardeners for their creativity and enthusiasm. We are so proud of the wonderful opportunities our Gardening Club provides and the memories our children are making.

From growing plants to carving pumpkins, there’s always something exciting growing at Abingdon.
