Year 6 Experience University Life with IntoUniversity

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed an exciting week at Teesside University as part of the IntoUniversity programme.

Throughout the week, pupils had the opportunity to experience a university environment, develop their presentation and communication skills, and explore a range of future careers and pathways. The programme encouraged pupils to think about their aspirations, recognise their strengths and consider the skills they will need for their future.

The experience also supports our RSHE curriculum, particularly pupils’ understanding of aspirations, careers, future pathways, personal development and preparing for life beyond school.

An important part of the programme was also health and wellbeing. Pupils explored how they can look after their physical and mental health, understand the factors that contribute to positive wellbeing, and make healthy and positive choices that support their overall wellbeing. They developed their confidence, resilience and independence while considering how these skills will help them both now and in the future.

We are incredibly proud of how positively our Year 6 pupils engaged with the experience and the ambition they demonstrated throughout the week. It was fantastic to see them developing new skills, exploring future possibilities and thinking about the healthy, successful futures they can create for themselves.
